IDEA Takeoff is an app for capturing, organizing, developing, and validating business ideas.
This Privacy Policy explains what information IDEA Takeoff may collect, how it is used, where it is stored, and what choices users have. It applies to the IDEA Takeoff mobile app, website, and related services.
1. Current version of the app
In the current MVP version, IDEA Takeoff is primarily a local-first app.
This means that, by default, your ideas and most app content are stored locally on your own device and are not automatically uploaded to our servers.
At this stage, the app may store locally on your device things such as:
- idea titles, descriptions, notes, and other idea-related content
- attached images, audio recordings, and files
- app preferences and local settings
If the current version of the app does not offer account registration, cloud sync, or server backup, then your data remains only on your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export it through available features.
2. Future features and optional cloud services
In future updates, IDEA Takeoff may introduce optional online features such as:
- user accounts
- user profile details
- email address
- phone number
- login credentials or authentication information
- encrypted cloud backup or sync
- private server storage for selected ideas or related content
- collaboration, validation, publishing, or sharing features
When such features become available, some of your information may be transmitted to and stored on secure servers. Where server storage is offered for private content, IDEA Takeoff intends for such content to be stored in an encrypted form where applicable.
Use of those online features may require collection and processing of additional personal information beyond what is stored locally in the current MVP version.
3. How we use information
We may use information to:
- provide and operate the app and related services
- save, organize, and display your ideas and related content
- enable optional account, sync, backup, sharing, or validation features
- improve app functionality, usability, stability, and security
- respond to support requests or feedback
- communicate important service or policy updates

4. Idea privacy and confidentiality
By default, IDEA Takeoff is designed to keep ideas private on the user’s device in the current MVP version.
If optional cloud or sharing features are introduced and you choose to use them, your selected content may be transmitted to our servers or shared with other users, validators, collaborators, or public pages, depending on the feature you use and your privacy settings.
Even if an idea is stored privately, you should understand that:
- IDEA Takeoff does not guarantee that an idea is unique
- similar or identical ideas may independently be created, developed, or published by other people anywhere in the world
- storing an idea in the app does not by itself create legal ownership, patent protection, trademark rights, or exclusivity
If protection of intellectual property is important to you, you should seek appropriate legal or professional advice.
5. Data sharing
In the current local-first MVP version, we generally do not receive your private idea content on our servers unless a feature specifically requires it.
In future versions, we may share limited information:
- with service providers that help operate the app or website
- with hosting, storage, analytics, authentication, or security providers
- when required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request
- to protect rights, safety, integrity, users, or the service
- in connection with a business transfer, merger, acquisition, or restructuring
We do not sell your private idea content to advertisers.
6. Third-party links and resources
The app or website may contain links to websites, tools, articles, forms, stores, or other resources that are not owned or controlled by IDEA Takeoff.

8. Data retention
In the current MVP version, data stored locally remains on your device until you edit, delete, uninstall, reset, or otherwise remove it.
If future server-based account or sync features are introduced, we may retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain security and business records.
9. Your choices
Depending on the version of the app and available features, you may be able to:
- keep your ideas only on your device
- choose whether to use optional cloud or sharing features
- edit or delete your idea content
- control permissions such as camera, microphone, storage, or notifications through your device settings
- contact us regarding your data or privacy questions
If future account features are introduced, users may also receive additional controls related to account data, profile data, sync, export, or deletion.
10. Children’s privacy
IDEA Takeoff is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use the service independently. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children where prohibited by law.
11. International use
If IDEA Takeoff later introduces online services, your information may be processed or stored in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards and legal requirements.
